It's full of interesting tidbits, including news that the Tanglewood Neighborhood Gas Lease Committee has negotiated a $10,000/acre bonus and 25% royalties for Tanglewood residents. Save the Trinity treesSeptember 5

Like most of us, you probably assumed the beautiful, eight-acre stretch of land along the Trinity River Hike and Bike Trail, near Rogers Road, is a city park. But, in fact, it’s private property, recently purchased by Chesapeake Energy. Chesapeake plans to remove more than two acres of the trees there to drill up to eight wells for natural gas, under Colonial Country Club and Union Pacific rail yard.

A growing number of concerned citizens are working to persuade Chesapeake to move its drilling site a few hundred feet to the north to the Union Pacific industrialized area. If this were done, the eight-acre tree grove could be spared and steps could be taken to convert it to a park.

Please attend a city-sponsored Public Forum regarding this issue:
  • Thursday, 6:00 – 8:00 pm
  • Capstone Church, 1700 Rogers Road; this is the building with the University Park Church sign.

If you care about saving what many consider the most beautiful section of the Trinity Trail system, show your support by coming to the Forum along with your friends and family.

Speak out and voice your opinion. Speak out for the trees. Speak out for Fort Worth.
